Education and Opportunities Programme

Horticulture Programme
Expected to start in May 2010. This is a new Exciting Programme
for Adults with (moderate) Learning Disabilities

On this programme you will:

• Be trained in practical horticultural skills, learn how to grow plants from seed, the life cycle of gardening and how to use the appropriate tools and personal protection equipment. You could gain certified qualifications from the National Proficiency Tests Council.
  
• Learn employment skills and training for work, learn how to write a CV, gain interview skills, how to work in a team, how to work using your own initiative, how to work and interact with the General Public and receive training in Health and Safety law.
• Social Skills and self-development, Develop your self-confidence, build positive self-esteem and have the opportunity to interact within the wider community.

This programme runs for one year and you’ll be expected to attend as many days as possible during the week. The course will take place both at our site in Edgware (1 Rectory Lane, HA8 7LF) and a green site in Harrow. There will be a cost involved for your participation that we will discuss with you when you get in touch.

Safe Space Groups
Next group expected to start in June 2010

We all have emotions and feelings but sometimes we find it hard to understand and express them. In our Safe Space Groups we explore how we can be in charge of our feelings so that our feelings won't be in charge of us!

What you need to know about Safe Space Groups:

• We meet weekly
• The session lasts 2 hours
• The course lasts 7 months
• Each group has 10 people in it
• Everyone is over 18 years old
• There is a mixture of men and women
• Each session costs £10
